Harold and Rachael Colby began professionally processing beef, pork, and wild game in 2013 with the help of their children Trent and Kendall. After purchasing what would become the Franklin Locker and building their customer base, the Colby's knew that they would either need to expand the facility or build a new facility to keep up with demand. By 2020, Trent Colby had decided to take on the full-time position of Plant Manager and oversee the growing number of employees. In 2023, the new state of the art facility was opened in Minden, Nebraska. With an arsenal of stainless-steel processing equipment and top of the line machinery, the decision was made to add a full-time USDA Inspector at the facility. Custom processing, private labelling, co-packing, and retail sales keep our days full. We are generally booked out several months. As we add employees, we are able to add new products and services.
